• Injury Severity Score (ISS)
  • it is a score for describing patients with multiple injuries
  • ISS = A² + B² + C²
  • It is a core derived by Baker
  • an increasing ISS was associated with increasing mortality
• Revised Trauma Score (RTS) score
  • it is a score made up of three assigned values: GCS, systolic blood pressure and respiratory rate
  • A lower score indicates a higher severity of injury
• Trauma Score and Injury Severity Score (TRISS)
  • it is a function of probability of survival
  • Probability of survival = 1/(1 + e-b)
  • where b = b0 + b1(RTS) + b2(ISS) + b3(A)
  • b1, b2, b3 are coefficient derived from clinical research
  • RTS = Revised Trauma Score
  • ISS = Injury Severity Score
  • A = age factor
